From August 24 to 27, 2023, Officina Battaglin attended Portland’s much-talked-about MADE bike show.
In the industrial setting of Zidell Yards, a former shipyard reborn as an evocative event space, we shared our Italian craftsmanship with the American cycling community.
The energy and passion we felt during those four days were like no other. Every nod of appreciation and excited chat at our booth made all the hard work worthwhile.
A huge shoutout to the MADE team! Organizing an event with +5.000 attendees and +200 exhibitors is no easy feat, but everything ran as smoothly as a well-lubed bicycle chain.
The Officina Battaglin Portofino Series Takes Center Stage
The stars of our show were the Portofino R and its gravel sibling, the Portofino G.
Through the lens of Bob Huff, the show’s official photographer, we can dive into the details of the Portofino G on display at the Officina Battaglin booth.
The standout feature of this Portofino G was the combination of vibrant colors: a cromovelato pink fading to a cromovelato purple through a hand-laid filigree.

The chrome lugs’ look and oversized shape attracted a lot of attention, as did the color-matched Officina Battaglin stem and spacers.

The most tech-savvy visitors were impressed by the fact that the Portofino G blended three different construction techniques:
- lugged construction;
- fillet-brazing for the dropped seatstays and the dropouts;
- TIG welding for the bottom bracket area.

Top it off with the Campagnolo Ekar groupset and the Levante wheels, and you’ve got the Italian gravel bike dream.
