There is a belief at the heart of everything we do at Officina Battaglin: a bicycle made in Italy means something. Not just as a label, but as a promise: handmade in Marostica, from the first weld to the final coat of color. That belief has guided every Officina Battaglin bike ever built. Our custom models are the fullest expression of that promise. Configured over weeks of consultation, finished in one of dozens of colors, and delivered as a unique object: it’s a process that takes time. A process that makes the result worth having.
But we also know that sometimes you want to get on a bike and go, especially for gravel adventures. So when we set out to design our first bikepacking-ready gravel bike, we asked ourselves whether we could build something different: a complete, ready-to-ride bicycle with as few decisions as possible between you and the road. And without ever compromising on where it is fabricated. Because that is what matters most to us.
To make that possible, we had to think differently. The time that our custom process demands is part of what makes the Battaglin bikes what they are. But for a ready-to-ride bike project, we needed a faster path.
We found the answer in the local framebuilding community: craftsmen who share our values, work to our standards, and make it possible to keep every frame entirely made in Italy. Each frame begins and ends in Marostica: prepared in our workshop, shaped by selected local framebuilders, and painted by our in-house painters before it’s built up. A process that also helps support a community we have always been part of.
When it came to naming this new project, the choice was natural. In 2026, Milano and Cortina hosted the Olympic Winter Games, bringing the world together in the name of human movement and the freedom to explore. A reminder that the most meaningful journeys begin with the desire to go further. Sitting alongside the Cortina, that is what the Officina Battaglin Milano gravel bike is built for.
The Milano
A genuine Officina Battaglin built for the long road
The Milano is a steel gravel bike designed for bikepacking, multi-day touring, and long endurance rides on both tarmac and dirt. Steel is not only the material that has defined Officina Battaglin since our founder Giovanni went back to crafting frames by hand in Marostica. It is also the natural choice for a bike built around comfort, reliability, and longevity. With its ability to absorb road vibrations and withstand the demands of loaded travel, a steel frame, maintained well, will outlast almost anything else on the road. With mounts for front and rear racks, a third bottle cage, a top tube bag and fork-mounted Anything Cages, the Milano brings the Battaglin craftsmanship to riders who want a dependable, essential companion for adventures that last more than a day.
Complete, configured, ready to ride
The Milano is the first Officina Battaglin bicycle available exclusively as a complete, ready-to-ride bike. The frame is built in steel, the material that has defined our brand since Giovanni Battaglin first dusted off the old machinery and went back to crafting frames by hand in Marostica. Every Milano is then assembled with carefully selected components and tuned before it leaves our workshop. Where our other models invite you to choose every component, every finish, every detail over weeks of consultation, the Milano gives you something different: a thoughtfully configured bike, made in Italy, delivered to your doorstep, ready for wherever your next gravel ride takes you.
Three signature colors, all hand-painted in Italy
The Milano is available in three distinct solid colorways, all applied by hand in Italy. There is no mass-produced spray line here: each finish is the work of the Officina Battaglin painters, who treat color as the final act of craftsmanship, the moment a frame earns its identity. Whether you choose the understated elegance of Gunmetal, the timeless cleanliness of White, or the Gold that sparks conversations during social rides, your Milano will look like what it is: a bike built with care, in a country that has always understood that how something looks is inseparable from how it makes you feel.
Ordering process and pricing
The Milano is available exclusively as a complete, ready-to-ride bike, produced in small batches to ensure the highest quality and attention to detail at every stage.
The process begins with reserving your frame with a deposit. This secures either a production slot or, if your size is already in stock, a frame set aside specifically for you. Our team will guide you through a professional consultation to identify the perfect fit from the 5 available sizes, ensuring optimal comfort and performance for your body and riding style.
Once your size is confirmed, our in-house painters will finish your Milano in your chosen colorway. By hand, in our factory, as with every bike that leaves our workshop.
The final step is selecting your build kit, which determines the price of your gravel bike. Three build kits are available:
- Milano Campagnolo Ekar GT (mechanical) — €2,500*
- Milano Shimano GRX Di2(electronic) — €3,000*
- Milano SRAM Rival XPLR 1×13(electronic) — €3,500*
Our mechanics will assemble and fine-tune the bike before it ships, so when it arrives, it’s ready to ride.
*All prices include 22% Italian VAT. VAT may vary depending on your country of destination. Shipping costs not included. Fill out the form below for a detailed quote.
