Here's what our fellow cyclists said about riding the Officina Battaglin custom steel bikes
Back to the testimonials"“My Portofino is one of the smoothest bikes I’ve ridden in a long time”"
“I have ridden my Battaglin Portofino for 7 rides ranging from 20 miles to 72 miles.
First, let me confirm the build.
I purchased the complete package from you, which included:
- Campagnolo Record groupset (172.5 crankset);
- Deda handlebars/stem;
- Deda setback seat post;
- Look Keo carbon pedals;
- Fizik Antares R3 saddle (regular size); Bora WTO 45mm wheelset with Vittoria Corsa Next tires (26cc).
I also purchased some upgrades, which included painting the handlebars, stem, and seat post to match the frame’s color scheme.
I weighed the bike today as shown in the attached picture and it came in at 19 lbs.
Three things that stood out when I first rode the bike.
It does not feel like 19 lbs. There is a lightness to the ride that makes it feel like a carbon bike under your body when you ride it.
The engagement was immediate when I got up to accelerate, but it was not harsh at all.
There was just the right amount of stiffness coming out of the bottom bracket with a unique mix of comfort.
This bike is built to ride on various terrain. It is one of the smoothest bikes I have ridden in a long time.
On bumpy roads, the bike felt like it was gliding over the surface and there was no transfer of vibration through my arms or legs.
When getting up to speeds of 25 mph and above, the bike feels very stable and seems to want to go faster based on how well it holds top-end speeds.
Based on the ride experience, I know I will be riding this bike for quite a while and may even order another one when I turn sixty years old.
Thank you for such great customer service and for bringing me into the Battaglin family.
Keep building great bikes and having positive impacts on the lives of people who purchase your bikes.”

“After the first rides on my Power+ Disc, here are my first impressions. The bike is super silent and super smooth. It doesn’t feel as fast as my carbon racer, but when I look at the averages, it comes pretty close. The biggest difference is the stability though. I think part of it comes from…
Hi Alex, First of all I am happy to share my experiences with my Power Plus Disc bicycle. It has been a few months since I received it and I wanted to have some “saddle time” with the bike to give my impressions. I have now ridden ~ 750 miles on it. Impressions: I love…
“Hi Alex, I just want to say thank you for taking care of me during the order process. I received the frameset and was finally able to build it up. I’ve been riding it for a few weeks now. Here are my impressions. The bike looks amazing. Thank you for working with me on the…
In seeking out a new road bike frame, my principal requirements were that it be new, Italian-made, of lugged steel Columbus SL tubing and with painted forks but a chromed fork crown. It was a great pleasure to discover—within minutes of starting my internet search—the Marosticana, a frame which not only precisely fit my needs…
After about 1500 kms of riding my new Battaglin, here are my impressions. This is the finest steel bike I have ridden and considering I have owned dozens of steel bikes, this is a remarkable achievement. However, when I compare it to carbon fibre, it only lacks by being a few hundred grammes more in…
For me, gravel cycling is all about freedom: waving goodbye to the stresses of everyday life (even if just for a couple of hours) long rides, short rides, mixed terrain, and the thrill of adventure. The Battaglin Officina Matera delivers all of that with unmistakable Italian craftsmanship from the very first turn of the pedals.…
