Gravel rides can be punishing, but the Matera smooths them out. Over the course of several rides I have ridden smooth gravel, technical sections and road surfaces both in dry, damp and wet/muddy conditions (this time of the year in the UK offers a lot of different weather conditions).
The geometry keeps me comfortable for hours, while the handling feels sharp and focused. On technical trails and loose gravel, it inspires confidence and control.

Speed and Responsiveness

This bike is fast, very fast! Whether climbing, sprinting, or cruising, the Matera responds instantly and feels happiest when putting the power through the pedals. Power transfer feels efficient, and it carries momentum beautifully — ideal for both endurance events and competitive gravel racing….ill be signing up for events in 2026.

I went for my favourite Groupset – SRAM, opting for 13 speed SRAM Force. Zipp XPLR wheels, a Redshift suspension stem and my go to saddle.
