“My idea to have a custom bike build began with a planned biking trip to Italy.
I wanted a traditional lugged steel frame, with all new Campy components.
I researched many builders focusing on quality, cost, and flexibility to have the bike finished when I arrived in Italy.
Considering that specific criteria, there was no other builder even close to Officina Battaglin.
Alex and I spent many hours on the phone discussing the specifics and he made the entire process surprisingly simple.
When I arrived at the “Officina” in Marostica, I met the frame builder who was hard at work building another frame.
Within 15 minutes, Alex arrived with his parents.
We spent two hours at the workshop tweaking the fit and making sure my Customs forms were all correct and then I was off.
I biked in northern Italy and Austria for three weeks and then flew to Girona Spain for a week and rode many routes to include a century around the Costa Brava.
After many, many, hours in the saddle, my bike fits perfectly! Sure, it’s beautiful but if it didn’t fit correctly, it would be absolutely worthless to me.
This was a big trip with a lot of logistics.
Without Alex’s experience and meticulous attention to detail, it would have not been the same trip.
