Photoshoot day for Red Lantern – My new Battaglin Portofino, which I bought for my 44th birthday.
I built this completely Italian: frame, groupset, components, wheelset, tyres, even the inner tubes (Pirellis)! The only thing not from Italy? The saddle 😀
My Portofino is the smoothest and the most beautiful bike I have ever ridden! I didn’t have to wait long for it too, and everything was communicated well with weekly updates and photos of the build.
Alex was kind to have calls to sort me out if I had more things to add or change. Overall, a very pleasant experience.
The bike rides like a magic carpet. It’s smooth, and I hardly feel any bumps on the road.
I did a speed test and managed to better my personal FTP, no joke!
Anyway, keeping with the rest of the race bikes on Sunday was a bliss, and at times, I was ahead pulling the pack 😂
