Yesterday I took the Matera out for its first truly big ride. As promised, here is my test and ride report.

I’ve now ridden the Matera on various surfaces—asphalt, gravel, meadow paths, and even a few light trails—and I have to say: this gravel bike is a lot of fun and performed brilliantly everywhere.

From the very beginning, you notice the excellent handling. It rides very intuitively, and you quickly gain confidence in the bike. The geometry is a perfect fit for me—sporty, yet relaxed enough that even longer distances are no problem.

Whether on the road or off-road, it is fast and at the same time very secure. Especially on gravel or meadow paths, you always have enough grip, and you feel well-supported even on small trails.

The bike is nice and nimble without being twitchy. It reacts directly in the corners but remains calm and comfortable on fast sections. Overall, everything feels very harmonious.

It also holds its own on the climbs—it climbs willingly and stays stable, even when the ground gets a bit loose. It never feels heavy or sluggish; instead, it feels pleasantly light and efficient.

On the descents, the bike is sure-footed, fast, and safe, and it remains easy to control even at higher speeds.

I also have to say: the components are well-chosen; everything fits together. And the bike-fitting was top-notch—I felt comfortable right away.

Conclusion: The bike is a total blast. It rides fast, safely, and smoothly. Combined with the service, you feel perfectly taken care of—I’m happy and very satisfied.
