[VIDEO] Building a steel road bike: 8 special CROMOVELATO colors for your custom frame

By Alex Battaglin

Want to make your steel road bike truly unique?

Finishing your frame in one of these 8 cromovelato colors is the way to go.

In this video, you’ll see 8 different cromovelato samples.

Each of these 8 small tubes is an authentic Columbus tube that has been finished the same way as a cromovelato frame.

So, we can replicate each one of these colors on all the custom steel frames we build.

Initially, this was supposed to be a video reserved for customers.

The customization of the frame is one of the last steps of the Officina Battaglin building process.

And we shot this video so that our customers could take the guesswork out of choosing the perfect cromovelato color.

But in the end, we thought that all the passionate cyclists all over the world deserved to see it.

In short, if you want to get some inspiration for your dream bike’s aesthetics, this video is for you.

Do you want to discover Giovanni Battaglin’s secret formula to building a custom steel bike that rides like a dream?

  1. Hi

I have recently purchased an old Battaglin SLX frame, is it possible to get these stripped and redone in the CROMOVALETO process. It looks like it has been repainted so I do not think it is original colors.

    • Yes, it’s possible, but it’s quite expensive: in addition to stripping the old paint from the frame you’d need to polish it, then chrome plate it, and finally painting it with the new color.
